Davis Brings Experience, Hops to Lady Eagles

DUBUQUE, IA – The Emmaus volleyball team welcomes Lyndra Davis from Zephyrhills, Florida as the newest member of their 2017 recruiting class.

Davis, a 5'5 pin hitter, earned three varsity letters for the Lady Bulldogs at Zephyrhills High. In 2016 she was a Zephyrhills Athlete of the Month selection, and was awarded 1st Team All-Conference in the Sunshine Athletic Conference. Lyndra also honed her skills in the USA Volleyball world as a member of Steel Volleyball and No Name Volleyball Club. She participated in the Tampa AVCA Volleyball Combine, and trained in the college PREP program at Volleyball Factory (Anaheim, CA). Davis was involved in Fellowship of Christian Athletes and student council in high school, and is a member of the National Honor Society. She also earned a varsity letter in track and field at Zephyrhills High.

"Lyndra is a dedicated competitor who is passionate about the game. She has put in a lot of hard work and has been successful through some major adversity in her career," said Coach Pitman.  "Don't be fooled by her height - she has great leaping ability and a quick arm swing! I am confident that she will develop into a very effective pin player for us."

"I made the decision to come to Emmaus because I feel I will excel and succeed in the Nursing program here," Lyndra commented. "I also chose the Lady Eagles because of the personality of Coach Pitman - he made me feel important and comfortable right away. I am looking forward to building my volleyball skills and growing stronger as a player under the direction of such experienced coaching. Additionally, I am eager to develop a bond with the volleyball team since I am the outsider coming from the Sunshine State!"

Davis credits her family in her journey to Emmaus. "I come from a very close knit family; they are what got me to where I am today. I know coming to Emmaus will be a life changing experience, but it is one that I am ready to embrace! I am comforted by the fact that my family will still be in my corner cheering me on, pushing me to do great things, and encouraging me and loving me through it all!"

Lyndra is the daughter of Greg and Angela Davis, and plans to become an RN via the Nursing program at Emmaus.
