Eagles Get Back to .500 After Thrilling Win vs. Union
Mackey and Cox Star in First Game of 2026
Dubuque, IA -- January 8, 2026
Emmaus University earned a solid home victory Thursday night, defeating Union Adventist University 82–74 at Pollard Fieldhouse.
The Eagles came out strong offensively, scoring 47 first-half points to take a four-point lead into the break. Emmaus maintained control in the second half, matching Union Adventist's physical play and making timely shots to keep the visitors from closing the gap.
Eli Mackey led all scorers with a game-high and career-high 28 points, knocking down six three-pointers and adding 10 rebounds for a double-double. Ethan Cox provided a spark with a career-high 18 points, including nine made free throws, while Colyer Wingfield chipped in 13 points and solid defense. Nathaniel Wagner and Lance Hall Jr. each pulled down 10 rebounds to help Emmaus win the battle on the boards.
With the win, Emmaus improved to 5–5 on the season, closing out the night with a strong performance in front of the home crowd.
