November 1, and 2, 2024 - Joplin, MO - The Emmaus University Eagles Men's Soccer team entered the Conference Tournament as the #2 Seed and faced the #3 Seed Manhattan on Friday in a semifinal, and came out on top 2-1, but fell to Barclay on Saturday 3-0, due to injuries.
In the First game, The Eagles faced the Thunder of Manhattan Christian College. In the first half, they were tied 1-1, but eventually took over in the second half, scoring a goal and as always the lockdown defense led by Tucker Kapas kept the Thunder scoreless in the second half, finishing the game with a score of 2-1.
In the Second game, The Eagles faced the Bears of Barclay College. Unfortunately, they just could not ever get anything going on Offense and in the Midfield, as many of Emmaus' star players were injured and not playing, or severely limited from injuries sustained from the first game. The final score was 0-3 in favor of Barclay, but one can imagine what would have happened if the Eagles were not nearly as injured.
Up Next: The Eagles will travel to Grand Rapids, MI to Grace Christian University for the NCCAA Midwest Region Tournament on November 8-9, with their first game being against Grace Christian University on November 8 at 2:00 PM.
