Emmaus Cross Country Posts Strong Results at Gil Dodds Invite
The Emmaus University cross country teams turned in a strong showing at the Gil Dodds Invitational on Saturday, highlighted by the men's squad officially hitting a national qualifying time in their first 8k of the season.
Christian paced the men with a performance just shy of his personal best, setting the tone for a tightly packed group that saw four Eagles finish within a minute of one another. Coach Jeremiah Gerardy noted, "I knew they would run a qualifying time again this year, but it is always nice to make it official… Christian really stepped up today and set the tone for the rest of the guys."
The women's team also showed steady progress, with improved times across the board and building confidence heading into the heart of the season. Coach Gerardy praised their effort, adding, "We are seeing continued improvement with the ladies' team as we are close to putting everything together in effort to running a national qualifying time."
He also highlighted Joy Heeter, who has yet to race this season due to injury but has remained a positive influence: "Joy hasn't been able to race yet, but she has been a great support to her teammates with a continued great attitude."
