Emmaus Women's Basketball Welcomes Kreiner
Emmaus University is thrilled to announce the signing of Hanna Kreiner, a 5'6" guard from Geneseo, Illinois, to the Emmaus Eagles women's basketball team. Kreiner, a 2025 homeschool graduate who played her high school sports for the Geneseo High School Maple Leafs, will join the Eagles as she begins her studies in Business this fall.
Head Coach Cody Cunard shared his excitement in the addition of Hanna to the program. "I am so excited to have Hanna on the team next year! Hanna's senior year at athletics was hindered due to knee injuries. I have been really impressed with Hanna's attitude and outlook on this. She has really held onto her identity in Christ and trusted God throughout this process. She brings much needed 3 point accuracy that will tremendously help our offense."
Kreiner brings a well-rounded background of athletic talent, leadership, and spiritual dedication to Emmaus. "I am choosing Emmaus because of its Christ-centered culture," said Kreiner. "I am excited to attend a school where I will be surrounded by others who want to grow in their faith. Emmaus is such a special place and I'm super excited to become a part of the Eagle family!"
In addition to her on-court abilities, Kreiner is actively involved in her church and community. She serves in her church nursery, contributes to the worship and creative teams, volunteers at youth sports camps, and leads her local Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) huddle.
"I am looking forward to studying the Bible and playing basketball at the collegiate level," Kreiner shared. "I'm super grateful for the opportunity to continue my athletic career at Emmaus. Coach Cunard and the rest of the team have welcomed me in, and I can't wait to be a part of the program!"
Hanna will be joining her older brother, Bennett at Emmaus in the fall. The elder Kreiner will be a junior and plays soccer for the Eagles.
