Eagles Play Tough Against D3 UNW
DIII Northwestern too much for Emmaus
St. Paul, MN -- December 13: The Emmaus University women's basketball team fell on the road Saturday afternoon, dropping an 83–60 decision to Northwestern (Minn.) at the Ericksen Center.
Northwestern jumped out to an early advantage, building a 28–14 lead after the first quarter and carrying a 51–34 edge into halftime. But Emmaus continued to battle throughout the second half.
Rachel Barrett delivered a standout performance for Emmaus, pouring in a game-high 30 points while grabbing 23 rebounds to record a dominant double-double. She also went 12-of-14 from the free-throw line and added two blocks on the defensive end. Madeline Wiest chipped in eight points, while Amelia Mackey and Erin McKenna added seven points apiece.
Emmaus finished with 44 rebounds and earned 19 points at the free-throw line, but shooting struggles from the field (31%) and beyond the arc (14%) proved costly against an efficient Northwestern attack.
Up Next: Emmaus will return after Christmas Break and host Union Adventist University on Thursday, January 8th, at 4:00 PM. Come out and support the Eagles!
