Dubuque, IA -- January 30-31, 2026
The Emmaus University Eagles women's basketball team turned in a dominant weekend at Pollard Fieldhouse, earning back-to-back convincing wins over Maranatha Baptist University and Grace Christian University to stay hot in Regional play.
Emmaus 67, Maranatha Baptist 23 (Jan. 30)
Emmaus set the tone immediately, holding Maranatha to just one point in the first quarter and never letting up defensively. The Eagles forced 35 turnovers and cruised to a 44-point win.
Rachel Barrett led the way with 22 points on 10-of-14 shooting, while Erin McKenna added 11 points and 10 assists. Marina Keck (13 points) and Aubry Silva (17 points) rounded out a balanced offensive effort as Emmaus controlled the glass and tempo all night.
Emmaus 67, Grace Christian 47 (Jan. 31)
About 18 hours later, Emmaus delivered another wire-to-wire performance, using steady scoring in every quarter to pull away from Grace Christian.
Barrett was again outstanding, posting 22 points and 14 rebounds, while Silva matched her with 22 points, including four three-pointers. Keck chipped in 12 points and six assists, and the Eagles limited Grace Christian to under 30% shooting from the field.
Across both games, Emmaus leaned on strong defense, rebounding, and unselfish offense, outscoring opponents 134–70 to cap off an impressive home stand.
A Notable Debut this weekend was by Jennika Beach, who is a 3-year Women's Volleyball Player and made her Women's basketball debut this weekend. She played 35 minutes, got 4 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 steals combined over the weekend.
With this win, the Eagles reach double-digit wins for the first time since 2021-22! They also secured 2 crucial Regional Wins, which bodes well for their future in the Regional Tournament, which will be hosted by Emmaus University on Feb. 26-28.
